WHAT IS VETERINARY COMPOUNDING????

Veterinary compounding is the mixing of medicines that is specific to pets and other animals. Ever have trouble giving your cat or dog a pill or a sticky capsule? Can't get your pet to take any medication by mouth at all? We now have several options that will make your life much easier. VETCHEWS ARE HERE TO REPLACE DIFFICULT TO ADMINISTER TABLETS & CAPSULES (NO MORE "PILLING")

VETCHEWS ARE MADE WITH THE MEDICATION EVENLY DISTRIBUTED THROUGHOUT THE CHEW. NEED HALF A DOSE? JUST HALF THE CHEW! IS YOUR  PET ON MORE THAN ONE MEDICATION? WE ARE ABLE TO PUT MORE THAN ONE MEDICATION INTO A CHEW AS LONG AS THERE IS NO DRUG INTERACTION AND THEY ARE DOSED THE SAME THROUGHOUT THE DAY!!

VETCHEWS ARE COMPOUNDED INTO DELICIOUS CHEWABLE FLAVORS SUCH AS BEEF, TUNA, LIVER, SHRIMP, SEAFOOD, CHICKEN, BANANA, CHERRY AND RAISIN.

Transdermals:

If your pet refuses bitter tasting oral medications such as prednisone, methimazole and amitriptyline, the use of transdermal gels or creams is the answer.

Advantages:

  1. Very easy to administer.
  2. Excellent absorption and predictable results. Most meds are dosed the same as they would be for oral administration.

Application:

All you have to do to medicate your pet with a transdermal gel/cream is rub the very small amount of medication into the skin on the inside of the ear (or anywhere the animal can't lick and has no hair). The usual amount of actual gel/cream needed is 1-3 drops! That's it! Here's a list of SOME of the medications available in a transdermal gel or cream: Amitriptyline (Elavil), Cisapride (Tagamet), Methimazole (Tapazole), Prednisone, Phenylpropanolamine.

Flavored Liquids:

We can turn ANY oral medication into a flavored liquid at any dose. Make medicating your pet a pleasurable experience for your beloved friend. Flavors available: Chicken, Beef, Tuna, Liver, and many more just ask.
